Warehouse Manager

OES Warehouse (Laredo, TX)

Overall management responsibility for warehouse operations. Oversee personnel, shipping, receiving, inventory, and materials management. Additional responsibility for certain communications between carriers, suppliers, other warehouses, internal parties, and possibly US Customs Agency.

Essential Functions

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services. Work with transportation companies on best practices and procedures for shipping of customer products
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of operational activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors as applicable.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation, by keeping track of quality, quantity, inventory levels, delivery times, and efficiency.
  • Direct, optimize, and coordinate full order cycle of product. Coordinate, manage and oversee reporting/analysis of physical monthly and EOQ inventories.
  • Perform risk assessment and risk management activities to minimize project risks.
  • Perform problem analysis through monitoring, reporting and resolving monthly product shortages, overages, damages, expired goods, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve problems or complaints requiring a broad-based analysis to determine solutions and future prevention.
  • Maintain proper communication with corporate office including escalation of issues, reporting on KPIs and performance, and any issues that may impede performance as needed.
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
  • Measure operational performance using appropriate systems, tools, techniques, and KPIs.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Promote continuous improvement in material movement, inventory accuracy, safety, software systems utilization for day-to-day activities and employee development.
  • Maintain, recommend and implement updates to inventory and warehousing related quality work instructions.
  • Supervise, coach, discipline, and train operation workforce.
  • Set and communicate clear expectations for team members regarding expected productivity results.
  • Champion corporate safety program and provide safety instruction to subordinates as needed or required.
  • Assess current work force requirements, based on capability, experience, workload, and expected results.
  • Comply with laws, regulations, organization policies, Environmental Health and Safety and ISO/TL/Quality requirements
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate cleanliness and working conditions of assigned facilities and equipment.
  • Assist in ensuring the security of the facility, its environment, employees, and contents.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and does include occasional forklift operation.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This position may require periodic work on the weekend based on business needs.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Work is primarily in a standard warehouse with extensive contact and frequent interruptions. Warehouse setting; requires standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time; occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting; lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight; operating office equipment requiring repetitive hand motion and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; possible travel to other locations; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
