Warehouse Coordinator

OES Warehouse (Laredo, TX)

This position works closely with the Laredo warehouse supervisor to coordinate the performance of the following activities: forklift operations, verification of load picking, staging and shipment, accurate receiving, adherence with safety protocols, and accurate inventory management. This position requires acute attention to detail and safety measures. Must maintain forklift operator credentials and attend all required warehouse safety training. This position also supports the documentation and coordination of import and export operations.

Note: This position is based in Laredo, TX.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain Forklift Certification credential.
  • Coordinate, manage and perform receiving, inventory management, bin assignment, load building, and shipping process.
  • Review daily orders.
  • Ensure that orders are filled and shipped accurately.
  • Assign orders and shipment builds to warehouse staff.
  • Maintain current and accurate digital and physical records of warehouse inventory.
  • Oversee and prepare accurate import and export documentation for cross border shipments.
  • Maintain current and accurate digital and physical records of import and export shipments and inventory movement.
  • Ensure warehouse staff are following operational work instructions.
  • Ensure warehouse staff are following safety guidelines and requirements.
  • Complete end of month inventory counts and reconciliation and assure all systems are accurate.
  • Perform daily inventory cycle count as needed.
  • Prepare inventory and shipment reporting as needed.
  • Perform manual labor when needed to support the warehouse staff.
  • Oversee proper use of handling equipment (forklift and yard mule).
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. This position may require long hours and could entail weekend work.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, reaching above and below shoulder level, twist and work with computer equipment. May involve lifting up to 30 pounds of equipment. Ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to see distance and up close with or without corrective lenses. Must be able to stand, for long periods, without leaving the work area. Must be able to push and pull items as needed/required. Ability to walk considerable distances during the course of his/her work.

Desired Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 (two) years previous experience in warehouse setting.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must have current forklift certification.
  • Knowledge of bulk packing & warehouse pick and pack procedures.
  • Must have proven ability to use computers, management software systems, etc.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be familiar with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must have previous experience with Data Entry/Data Management.

Beneficial Skills

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean management principles
